Carmel

Time to go to a beach we don't visit that often. Carmel by the sea and the downtown nearby are really nice.
On the beach, I get my favorite snack - sandwich with almond butter, wrapped especially for me. I know it is for me because it has Thomas drawn on it...

Then I get to play with sand.

It is fun being covered in sand, but I am not sure I like the taste of sand.

Back home

Yep, we are back from our vacation.
One thing I forgot to mention - on the last day of our vacation, I was swimming on my own!
Now I am making paper with Mom.

Sand sculpting

Yesterday we had dinner with Eddie (a friend of Mom who lives here), and I got to play lots of odd musical instruments.
They also have 2 guinea pigs, and a rabbit that looks like a gremlin. Rabbits really can run fast...
Today we decided to go to the beach. This time we found the one with the sand sculptures. Somehow my sand sculptures don't look quite like that...

Right next to the beach we found some motorcycles - one of them is even a BMW and blue! I want one of these when I grow up.

On our way back to Boston we stopped at another harbor town, after I had a nice nap in the car on the way.
When I woke up, I found myself on a hand - or is it a wing?
We tried to go on a boat, but the trip was cancelled since there were not enough people.

Hiking

The white mountains look suspiciously green to me.
Mom says that in winter they are truly white with snow.
Today we went hiking around the moutains. Here we are in Diana's bath. Instead of taking a bath I am drawing while Pa is checking how to get farther up the stream.

Is it time for a snack yet? Or perhaps a nap?
There are mosquitoes here, and we got some repellent from kind fellow travelers. Seems I got bitten a couple of times before that though.

Finally the way is clear, and I can walk on the rocks.

Check out the perfect spot for a picnic.
The hotel pool is really great. There is a part where I can stand (the aquarium) and many children so we play together.
Also, I can go with my new caterpillar to the water, and the duck.
No pictures from the pool, but as far as I am concerned - this is the best part of the trip. I can stay in the pool for hours!

Off to a new state...

Today we are heading up into the mountains. We stopped along the shore looking for a sand sculpting competition but turns out we stopped at the wrong place. So we went to look at the harbor and have a picnic.

We decided to have the picnic at a nice public garden by the harbor. We picked up some pasta, pizza and calzone straight from the oven and sat near the fountains to eat. I also got to run around all the fountains...

Then we headed to the harbor and the shore. Plenty of stones to throw and make funny shapes.
Tonight we will sleep in the white mountain and there is another pool there.
I wonder what a white mountain looks like...

Cold at the Cod

We went to visit province-town, and the beach.
Turns out it was colder then we had hoped, but we still had fun.
I got to look at sand and shells with my magnifying glass, and even use it to build castles.

and even use it to build castles.

Then we went for a nice pond walk, and I saw flowers and frogs and chipmonks.

We finished off near the beach again, and it was somewhat warmer - though not enough to swim.
I found lots of pretty rocks and shells, and threw some of them in the ocean...

Onwards we go

Yesterday was a busy day - I went with Dad to the Children's museum, but when we got there they closed to museum because the air went bad. I am not quite sure how that happened, but Dad says they will fix it tomorrow, and we went to the science museum instead.
In the science museum I saw lots of butterflies, and got to create my own fish and send them to the ocean (well it was a simulated ocean, but I liked it alot). I also saw the road open to let a boat pass. Very strange...

Today we woke up rather late, so we went for breakfast in a bookstore, and I got to hear plenty of stories. Then we got our car - it was blue! Just for me! And drove to Cape Cod.
We were too late to visit the glass museum, but we stopped neaby anyways and sat on the shore of the lake - played with feathers and ate blueberries. Then we went to our hotel and played in the pool.
Did I mention that we are going to have a pool in our hotel EVERY DAY?
I am sure to take advantage of that fact :)

Morning in Boston

Today we are on vacation.
We flew all the way to Boston, and after a breakfast in downtown, we took the train underground!
It is called the T, just like the T in Thomas, and it brought us to the park.
There was a parade, but I was more interested in the playground, and better yet - a merry go around!
I rode round and round and round on the frog.

Then we walked to the other side of the park, where I got to ride on mama duck!

To finish off the park, we practiced dancing near the lake.

I wonder where we will have lunch?

And later in the afternoon

We took the T again, this time towards the ocean, and found Mama duck with all the ducklings waiting for us there!
This time I couldn't climb her though.

I did get to watch the ships and the ocean, and had lots of fun.

Then we went for dinner in the Italian quarter, which was actually pretty good. We also found a quiet place for me to run around in, with a fountain to play around.

And guess what - you can throw pennies into the fountain!
Can you see the pennie in the air?
Usually I only throw stones into the water so this was really new to me...

Graduation

Today I graduate the little gym class!
I learned new pole tricks.

And other tricks that were not part of the curriculum...
And I know how to walk the bar, roll on the bar, and even jump from the bar!

Here you can see me getting my medal. Should I start a collection?
After the gym, I like sitting next to the fountain and nibbling on a snack (a bagel or bannana).

Completing the painting

Remember my painting?
Well, I did.
Finally it is dry, so as soon as I woke up this morning, I decided it is time to complete it.

The sun is not coming out quite as yellow as I expected. In fact it is somewhat greenish...
In a bit I will try to use some of mothers' acrylic yellow instead. Mom says it is more opaque, so my sun will be really yellow!

Time for the park

Summar is here, and there is light in the evening. Enough that we can go to the park even.
Now I ride my bike to the park, and I can go so fast Mom (and Pa) have to run after me!
Of course, there are some places I have to stop and wait for them. Above is one of those places, I can't climb stairs on my own when I am on a bike... Yet...

Here you can see me practicing my new skill - the fireman pole slide.
I am not strong enough to climb back up though.

The horizontal ladder is also fun. I need some help to climb on top, but after that I am fine.

And last but not least, before we go I get to chase the bubbles!

Painting with friends

Today Shelly came to visit!
We played lots of games, and practiced painting too. I painted the sky all blue, and tomorrow I will paint a sun in the sky...
